
VOLKSBANK PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY was registered on October 10, 1991 (previously, up until September 2, 2008 – Electron Bank, Open Joint-Stock Company). Starting from April 2007, the Bank became part of the Volksbank International AG (Austria) group. As at January 1, 2011, Volksbank International (VBI) owned 99.91 per cent of the Bank’s stock.
Over the recent years, VOLKSBANK has shown a rapid, dynamic growth in the Ukrainian financial services marketplace, has significantly reinforced its positions, and has proved the image of a European bank.
The Bank’s corporate strategy is based on meeting the Client’s needs. The key emphasis is placed upon a wide spectrum of services offered, their versatility and quality, and upon putting of high-end technologies into practice. Over the last two years, VOLKSBANK managed to substantially widen and update the product line while offering most-needed services and all-factored-in solutions.
Just as all other international banks, VOLKSBANK has a clear split of functions between the front office and back office, which increases the quality of customer service and contributes to risk reduction. Background:
In April 2007, Volksbank International AG became the owner of more than 98 per cent of the stock of Electron Bank, Open Joint-Stock Company, which at that time had been operating in the banking services market for over 15 years and was believed to be one of the best banks in the Western Ukraine.
The history of Volksbank AG (VBAG) dates back to 1922, when several local credit unions incorporated to form a single association. The corporate philosophy of trust and partner relations with customers at this bank was molded over time and is tried and true.
Currently, Volksbank AG is in the Austria’s top five leading financial corporations. In addition, Volksbank AG plays a traditionally leading role of a partner to the Austrian economy and finances the operational needs of small- to large-scale companies.
